Neerja Bhardwaj, MD, MPH

Dr. Neerja Bhardwaj is Founder and President of Specialists in Geriatric and Palliative Care Medicine PLLC, a practice that focuses on helping seniors or patients with serious illness with specialty evaluation and treatment. Dr. Bhardwaj has over nineteen (19) years experience in clinical care as a specialist in both Geriatrics and Palliative Care Medicine. Dr. Bhardwaj is triple Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and Palliative Care Medicine. She was chosen by her peers as one of "D" Magazine's Best Geriatric Doctors in Dallas in 2022, and 2023.

Dr. Neerja Bhardwaj, is a dedicated member of the Dallas County Medical Society which is the second largest medical society in the country. In addition she has been appointed to a leadership position within the Dallas County Medical Board for the term 2024-2026 as a member of the Medical Board. Dr. Bhardwaj is also on the advisory board for the Dallas Area Parkinson’s Society. Her commitment to advancing healthcare standards and patient care makes her a highly respected figure within the medical community

Prior to forming her practice in Dallas, she was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University in New York City, New York and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Bhardwaj completed her undergraduate work at Emory University in Atlanta , Georgia double majoring in both Biology and Anthropology where she got her Bachelors in Science. Prior to medical school Dr. Bhardwaj pursued her Masters in Public Health specializing in Maternal and Child Healthcare along with International Medicine at the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston ,Texas. Dr. Bhardwaj received her Doctor of Medicine at SABA University School of Medicine in 2001. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Louisiana State University and her Fellowship in Geriatrics at University of Texas Southwestern. Dr. Bhardwaj has been in several senior leadership positions in major hospital systems and companies around the country before deciding to start her own Medical Private Practice in DFW area.

Dr. Bhardwaj is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Geriatrics Society, Texas Medical Association, American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Texas Indian Physician Society, and American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin.

Dr. Bhardwaj’s vision for her practice is to utilize her expertise in Geriatrics and Palliative Care Medicine to deliver compassionate care to her patients and their families.

When she is not taking care of patients, Dr. Bhardwaj enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends. She has backpacked and hiked across 6 continents. Dr. Bhardwaj also met her goal of seeing all 7 wonders of the world and loves to share stories of traveling adventures!
